How Scan-Based Updates Work in SKUWD

SKUWD is designed so you don’t have to type and search for items to update inventory.

You just scan.

When you create an item, SKUWD lets you attach one or more types of “scan shortcuts” to that item:

  • a barcode (if the item already has one on it)

  • an app-generated QR code (SKUWD creates this automatically)

  • an NFC tag (tap your phone directly to the item)

Once an item is linked to any of those, you can pull up that exact item instantly later — without searching, without typing, without scrolling lists.

Example Flow

You create an item called “Blue Vinyl Roll”:

  • you attach the existing barcode on the rollor

  • you print a QR label from SKUWD and stick it onor

  • you stick a little NFC tag on the bin

Later on when you use that item…you just scan it or tap it.

That’s it.

SKUWD opens that exact item and lets you adjust stock right on the spot.

  • used one? tap minus 1

  • restocked? tap plus 10

Done.

Why This Matters

This is how inventory updates should work:

You don’t go FIND inventory in the app.Inventory finds itself FOR YOU.

Every scan is a direct jump straight to that item record.

This saves time, prevents mistakes, and keeps everything accurate without “data entry” stress.

Scan. Adjust. Move on.
