Security at Skuwd

Last Updated: February 4, 2026

At Skuwd, we take the security of your data seriously. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we design and operate our service using industry-standard practices appropriate for a modern cloud-based SaaS application.

This page explains how we protect your data and what you can expect from us.

1. Infrastructure & Hosting

Skuwd is built on Firebase and Google Cloud Platform, which provide globally distributed, hardened infrastructure with built-in redundancy, monitoring, and physical security controls.

We rely on these platforms to provide:

  • Secure data centers

  • Network-level protections

  • Redundancy and availability

  • Regular infrastructure patching and maintenance

2. Data Transmission & Encryption

All data transmitted between your device and Skuwd’s servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. This helps prevent interception or tampering while data is being sent over the internet.

3. Authentication & Access Control

Access to user accounts is protected through authentication mechanisms provided by Skuwd and its service providers. Only authorized users may access their accounts.

Access to Skuwd’s production systems and databases is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by role-based access controls.

4. Application Security

We follow common web application security best practices, including:

  • Secure handling of authentication sessions

  • Use of reputable cloud services and managed infrastructure

  • Monitoring for abnormal usage patterns

  • Regular updates to dependencies and core services

5. Data Protection & Privacy

Skuwd does not sell user data. Data is used only to provide and improve the Service, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Users remain in control of their inventory data and may request access, export, or deletion of their data in accordance with applicable laws and our retention policies.

6. Backups & Reliability

Skuwd relies on managed cloud infrastructure that provides redundancy and backup mechanisms designed to protect against accidental data loss and infrastructure failures. While we strive for reliability, we recommend that customers maintain their own backups for critical business data.

7. Incident Response

In the event of a confirmed security incident affecting user data, Skuwd will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate, and notify affected users in accordance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.

8. Your Responsibilities

Security is a shared responsibility. Users are responsible for:

  • Protecting their account credentials

  • Using strong, unique passwords

  • Logging out of shared or public devices

  • Managing user access within their organization

9. Limitations

Skuwd is designed for small teams and solo operators. It is not intended to meet formal enterprise compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS. If your organization requires certified compliance programs, Skuwd may not be the right fit at this time.
